To those who criticize "The Social Gospel"
Speak out for those who cannot speak,
for the rights of all the destitute.
Speak out, judge righteously,
defend the rights of the poor and needy. Proverbs 31.8-9
Hat Tip: Mike King
Please understand, this is not meant to be a "drive-by" post, however, there are those who feel that social work (for lack of a better term) is taking on too large a role in the church. Your thoughts are welcome, but please, keep it respectful.

Actually, social work was lost to the church for so long that we have no experience with this philosophy. It feels very strange. We are awake to the need to be engaged and impulsive about catching up. It makes us feel a bit clumsy. I don't think we are doing too much. I do think we have a very long learning curve to catch up.
